Discovering our passion through sailing Greece with waternative.

Like most people, we thought a sailing holiday in the Mediterranean was not within our reach, just a dream, only for the rich and famous. waternative totally changed our view on this as they opened up their local world to us.

We had both travelled the conventional way through the Greek islands, but wanted to experience something more, something different and unique with our families.  We had to have some kind of adventure for all, a variety of activities and options that would satisfy the whole family, freedom to be spontaneous, flexibility so we were not always rushing, and new experiences every day. We also decided that a key part of the journey must be to "live like the locals", immerse ourselves in the culture and way of life.  Even though we are of Greek heritage we still wanted to get deep with the sea, the land, the people and the culture, and see what we cold find. The waternative team took this brief and truly crafted an "experience of a life time" - both times we have travelled :)

We tasted the local authentic cuisine, drank the local wine, ouzo & frappe (iced coffee for those who haven't yet been to Greece :). Swam in the beautiful crystal blue waters. Listened and danced to traditional music. Smelled the crisp Mediterranean air. All the senses were awakened. Creating lifetime memories imprinted in our mind, body & soul.

A new passion arose within us.... A passion which excites us and compels us to share our experiences with others. We want to inspire and guide people to the exhilaration of a waternative life.

waternative, connected us and our families to a whole new world. The variety of each day was limitless. Some days were adventure packed, exploring new islands, swimming in caves, jumping off cliffs, rock climbing, hiking, explored ancient ruins, snorkelling and fishing and even swam with the dolphins. We bathed in isolated and secluded inlets as well as vibrant party beaches. Other days we simply enjoyed the tranquility of sailing, soaking up the sun, breathing in the sea breeze, feeling the wind on our skin. Feeling totally at peace and content.

In the evenings we would moor at a different location and the adventure continued into the night. We dined at taverns, restaurants and cafes. Danced and listened to live music at the local night clubs, bars and festivals. Best of all for us girls, shopped till we dropped at the local shops and markets.

Above all the waternative experience allowed us the flexibility and design of doing as much or as little as we liked. It was like having our own floating home with all the comforts. No packing and unpacking, no transfers, no schedules, no curfews, no getting lost. A relaxing yet exciting, stress free holiday for all, whether you are single, a group of friends, or a family.

Sailing is now a personal passion that we continue to share with our families and with others...

Without the expertise and guidance of the waternative team our trip would not felt so unique, safe and magical.
